Job summary

Kearney Public Schools is seeking a Data Engineer to lead data interfaces, extracts, and reporting across the district’s SIS platforms. The role requires strong SQL skills, data governance, and collaboration with district leadership to drive data-driven decisions.

The ideal candidate will manage ETL processes, ensure data quality, and develop reports for multiple modules, including Demographics, Assessments, MTSS, SpEd, and Scheduling, in a fast-paced educational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
• Relational database concepts and advanced SQL with complex queries, joins, stored procedures, functions, and job scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and administrative role for implementing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting the district’s data interfaces and extracts.
• Provide support in report creations and data extracts for systems.
• Manage data quality and reporting to satisfy Nebraska EdFi requirements and deadlines.
• Provide primary project management and technical support for SIS modules (Demographics, MTSS, SpEd, Registrations, Gradebook, Scheduling).
• Perform ad hoc reports to district leadership to enable data-driven decisions.
