Job summary

Kearney Public Schools is seeking a Data Engineer to lead technical and administrative work around the district’s data interfaces and extracts within the SIS environment. Immediate start for responsibilities spanning demographics, MTSS, SpEd, parent and student portals, analytics, and scheduling.

Applicants should have a technology-related bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with US residency/work documentation.

Qualifications

• Education level: Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience
• Residency: Must be current resident of the US and hold valid work documentation
• Required Skills/Experience: Relational database concepts; Advanced SQL skills including complex queries, joins, stored procedures, functions, and job scheduling
• Preferred Skills/Experience: Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS; Clever or Class Link; K-12 Student Information System(s) or other Information System

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and administrative role for implementing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting the district’s data interfaces and extracts
• Provide support in report creations and data extracts for systems
• Foster and maintain a strong vendor relationship with the SIS provider
• Maintain understanding of the EdFi data reporting requirements and deadlines for timely reporting
• Provide project management, change management and technical support for SIS modules (Demographics, MTSS, SpEd, Portals, Analytics, Registration, Gradebook, Scheduling)
