Summit Utilities, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise data pipelines in an enterprise-scale environment.

This internship is designed for currently enrolled undergrad or grad students seeking hands-on data engineering experience under senior engineers. Ideal candidates have coursework or internship experience with SQL and Python, with a keen attention to detail and a strong willingness to learn in a fast-paced team setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in CS, IS, Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Math or related field.
• Coursework or projects involving databases, data analysis, or software development.
• Familiarity with Python and SQL encouraged; exposure to cloud data platforms or version control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines that ingest, transform, and stage data.
• Write, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries under guidance of engineers.
• Help implement data quality checks, logging, and documentation for pipelines.
