Job summary

Jump Trading, based in Chicago, IL, offers a 10-week data engineering internship as part of Core Development to build data infrastructure and pipelines for firm-wide use.

You will collaborate with experienced data engineers, work on production code, and follow our full development cycle with Agile processes under a dedicated mentor’s supervision. International students are welcome; CPT/OPT eligibility and visa sponsorship are available for full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Proficient Python development on Linux with strong data structures and threading.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team using Agile development.
• Willingness to learn and build solutions from scratch.
• Interest in data pipelines and database management for data integrity.
• Comfort with Claude Code and reliable availability.
• No finance or economics background required.

Responsibilities

• Work with data engineers on production code and pipelines.
• Participate in full development cycle: development, testing, release in Agile.
• Receive mentorship and feedback throughout the summer.
• Support firm-wide data solutions.
