Job summary

Optimum Media Engineering in New York is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to join the Data Solutions Team. The Intern will help develop and maintenance of data pipelines, data infrastructure, and analytical data solutions.

You will work closely with Data Engineering and Data Analytics teams to ingest, process, and manage data across various systems. The role offers hands-on experience with our data platform and technologies, including BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, and more, while developing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Data Science/Statistics/CS/Engineering/Information Science/Math or equivalent
• Graduate degree in related field preferred
• Intermediate SQL programming with relational databases
• Comfortable reading, writing Python code
• Exposure to cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks)
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT and data processing workflows
• Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn
• Team-oriented with good communication
• Exposure to Snowflake or similar data warehouses
• Familiarity with PySpark/Spark
• Experience scripting and deploying ETL jobs; cron jobs a plus
• Git, GitHub or similar versioning a plus
• Statistical analysis or ML experience a plus
• Media, Television, Advertising, or Digital Marketing experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data engineers to maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Work with BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks to support data processing and reporting
• Write SQL queries and Python code for data structuring and validation
• Aggregate, onboard and investigate data from multiple sources
• Document data processes, architecture and development activities
