Job summary

NationsBenefits is seeking an experienced Data Engineer II to design, develop, and optimize enterprise data solutions in a healthcare setting. You will build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and SQL technologies to support analytics, reporting, and decision-making.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, SQL Server, SSIS, and healthcare data. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and applications teams while ensuring data quality and HIPAA

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or a related technical role.
Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
Advanced SQL development skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, indexing, and database performance tuning.
Experience developing and supporting SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) packages.
Experience with PL/SQL development.
Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
Healthcare industry experience working with claims, provider, member, clinical, or operational healthcare data.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Databricks and SQL technologies.
Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes across healthcare systems and enterprise data sources.
Develop and support data warehouses, data marts, and analytical data models.
Create, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and database objects.
Develop and support SSIS packages and data integration workflows.
Utilize Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake technologies to process and transform large datasets.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and application teams to deliver effective data solutions.
Monitor data quality and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues.
Support HIPAA compliance, data governance, and data security initiatives.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and data mappings.
