Job summary

NationsBenefits is seeking a Data Engineer I to support enterprise data pipelines, ingestion, and reporting in a healthcare environment. You will work closely with senior engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to build and maintain data solutions using Databricks, SQL Server, and SSIS.

The role emphasizes data governance, quality, and HIPAA compliance, with collaboration across technical and business teams to enable data-driven decisions and reliable reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in Data Engineering or related field.
• Working knowledge of Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to troubleshoot complex queries.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Exposure to SSIS and PL/SQL development.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and SQL.
• Assist with data ingestion, transformation, and integration across systems.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and objects.
• Support SSIS packages and data integration workflows.
• Work with Databricks and Apache Spark to process data.
• Troubleshoot data quality issues and provide production support.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business users to deliver data solutions.
• Create technical and process documentation.
• Support data governance, data quality, and HIPAA compliance initiatives.
