Job summary

Amazon is seeking a skilled data engineer in Arlington, VA to help the Accounting BI team deliver automated reporting, scalable data architectures, and timely financial insights. You will work across back-end and front-end aspects, leveraging AWS, Python, SQL and modern UI tech to turn ambiguous business questions into reliable dashboards and data products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience in a modern scripting or programming language (Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS).
• Experience with AWS technologies (Redshift, S3, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda).
• Knowledge of SDLC and software engineering best practices.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with non-relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Identify data architecture and technology to facilitate analysis of common Amazon customer questions.
• Partner with engineering teams to enhance UI solutions, data infrastructure and broad access to insights via BI tools.
• Design, build and implement solutions using AWS technologies.
• Enable large-scale solutions using Python, React, JavaScript, TypeScript and AWS services.
• Establish technology best practices across the organization.
• Work on proofs of concepts for adoption of new technology and tools.
