Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Accounting BI team in Arlington, VA. You will help automate reporting, optimize data for analytics, and partner with business owners to define key questions.

The role blends back-end and front-end work, with AWS, Python, React, and SQL at the core. You will design scalable data solutions and help drive best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience with non-relational databases/data stores

Responsibilities

• Working with stakeholders and other engineering teams to identify and scope the right data architecture and technology to be used to facilitate analysis of most common Amazon customer behavioral questions
• Partnering with partner engineering teams to enhance UI solutions, data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights made available through BI tools across the organization
• Design, build and implement the right solutions using AWS and similar technologies
• Enable large scale solutions using Python, React, JavaScript, Typescript and AWS services
• Establishing and implementing technology best practices that should be followed across the organization
• Work on proof of concepts for adoption of new technology and tools
