Job summary

Amazon is seeking a data engineering-focused professional to support the global Accounting BI team in building automated reporting and data platforms. The role emphasizes back-end and front-end development for a web portal, leveraging AWS cloud tech and scalable data pipelines to provide accurate financial insights.

You will collaborate with business owners to define key questions, craft efficient UI/UX, and implement best practices for SDLC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full SDLC, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control, CI/CD, testing and operations.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Responsibilities

• Working with stakeholders and other engineering teams to identify and scope the data architecture and technology for analysis of common customer questions in Amazon.
• Partnering with partner engineering teams to enhance UI solutions, data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights via BI tools.
• Design, build and implement the right solutions using AWS and similar technologies.
• Enable large scale solutions using Python, React, JavaScript, Typescript and AWS services.
• Establishing and implementing technology best practices across the organization.
• Work on proof of concepts for adoption of new technology and tools
