Job summary

ZincFive, headquartered in Tualatin, Oregon, is seeking a Data Engineer I to join the data team onsite. You will develop and support data ingestion, transformation, and reporting solutions for ZincFive's NiZn-based products, battery systems, and manufacturing operations using Azure Databricks.

The role also involves building bronze-to-gold transformations, maintaining notebooks and jobs, running automated tests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 0–2 years of professional data engineering or software development experience.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL in practical settings.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL concepts, and structured data formats.
• Ability to follow established designs and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Databricks.
• Implement pipeline components with Python, SQL, Spark, and Delta Lake.
• Ingest data from files, cloud storage, databases, APIs, telemetry systems, and other sources.
• Create bronze, silver, and gold data transformations using medallion patterns.
• Maintain Databricks notebooks, workflows, jobs, and configurations.
• Write automated tests and data-quality checks; monitor scheduled jobs and investigate failures.
• Assist with data validation, mapping, and source-to-target documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data requirements and governance standards.
