Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a data engineer to support ingestion, transformation, and maintenance of enterprise data pipelines across Databricks and SQL Server. You will redesign compensation models within ICM, implement medallion architecture, and ensure data quality across HR-related datasets.

Responsibilities include collaborating with Finance and HR, translating business rules into robust data models, and integrating Workday/payroll data where relevant.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience with SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning).
• Expert Databricks experience including Delta Lake and medallion architecture.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for pipeline development.
• Experience with Azure cloud services (Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, Key Vault).
• Ability to translate complex business logic into data models and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day data ingestion, transformation, and pipeline maintenance across Databricks using Python and SQL.
• Redesign compensation calculation model within Oracle Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) including data modeling and migration to medallion architecture.
• Build and maintain Bronze/Silver/Gold layer pipelines sourcing from SQL Server, Oracle ICM, and other systems.
• Design and manage Delta Lake tables ensuring data quality and performance across compensation datasets.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Compensation teams to translate business rules into auditable data pipelines.
