Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Data Engineer I to power GL and CMP pricing with data-driven insights. You will work with actuarial and data science partners to build production-grade data assets that influence pricing outcomes across core insurance products.

You will grow domain expertise in GL and CMP, contribute to modernization efforts, and help ensure data reliability, model readiness, and scalability across pricing platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field or equivalent.
• 2 additional years of software/data engineering experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and model implementation in the cloud.
• Programming in Python and SQL.
• Working with data engineering concepts and building/maintaining data pipelines.
• AI-native solutions and modern software engineering practices (APIs, microservices, test automation).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps tooling like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions and data cleansing/quality improvements.
• Design data solutions and assess data value for analytics.
• Collaborate across teams to support delivery and educate end users on data products/analytical environment.
• Perform data and system analysis and resolve defects of moderate complexity.
• Test data movement, transformations, and data components.
