Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and operate data pipelines that support AI, ML and BI initiatives. You will translate business questions into scalable data solutions and ensure data quality, governance, and security across enterprise data assets.

You will work with cloud technologies, Databricks, and modern tooling, while collaborating with analytics teams to accelerate insights and decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field or equivalent.
• Six years of related experience.
• Proficient with cloud platforms and modern data technologies, including: AWS: Lambdas, EventBridge, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Athena
• Experience with AI tools and concepts and familiarity with developer productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Comfortable using Jira, GitHub, Snyk, ServiceNow, Autosys.
• Proficient programming skills and solid understanding of software engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, and version control.
• The ability to deliver work at a steady pace and decompose work into small releases.
• Demonstrated domain expertise and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions, correct problems, apply transformations, and recommend data cleansing/quality solutions.
• Design data solutions.
• Analyze sources to determine value and include in analytics.
• Ensure data governance, data security and data quality.
• Collaborate across teams to support delivery and educate end users on data products.
• Perform data and system analysis and resolve defects of moderate complexity.
• Test data movement, transformation code, and data components.
