Job summary

Travelers’ Data Engineering team builds pipelines that empower enterprise analytics. As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and deploy data solutions to support AI, ML, and BI initiatives.

You will translate data stories into robust architectures and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable data products. The role requires a strong foundation in data engineering, cloud services, and hands-on ETL with Python or PySpark, plus clear communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent.
• 6+ years of related experience.
• 3+ years in a data engineer role with IT/engineering experience.
• 2+ years ETL experience with Python or PySpark.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (prefer AWS) and related services.
• Experience developing generative AI applications and LLMs.
• Proficient use of data tech tools and software engineering practices.
• Ability to decompose work into small releases and meet commitments.

Responsibilities

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions, fix data issues, and propose data quality improvements.
• Design data solutions and assess data sources for value.
• Identify data to include in analytical processes.
• Apply data governance, security, and quality practices.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver data products and educate users.
• Analyze defects and incidents, and resolve them.
• Test data movement, transformation code, and components.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
