Job summary

Travelers Data Engineering team constructs pipelines to contextualize data for enterprise analytics. As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and deploy data solutions supporting AI, ML, and business intelligence initiatives.

You will translate data stories into actionable insights and work with partners to deliver scalable data products. You will apply your expertise in SQL, cloud platforms, and data governance to ensure data quality and secure access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent.
• Six years of related experience in data engineering.
• Experience with data transformation using dbt or Databricks PySpark.
• Experience building data pipelines with AWS and Databricks.
• Experience using AI tools to improve productivity.
• Strong SQL skills and data querying ability.
• Ability to interact with business partners to define requirements and solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, programming languages, and software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions and ensure data quality.
• Design data solutions for the enterprise analytics landscape.
• Assess data sources and determine value for analytical processes.
• Incorporate data governance, security, and quality controls.
