Job summary

Rocket Mortgage in Detroit is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain data platforms and ELT processes that empower data-driven decision making. You will work with cross-functional teams to build solutions meeting business needs in a hybrid on-premises and cloud data environment.

The role emphasizes data quality, performance and scalability within a large data lake, with opportunities to handle relational and non-relational models and to contribute to API-enabled data services.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience building data solutions in relational and non-relational databases.
• 3 years of experience analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies.
• Expertise writing SQL/NoSQL queries.
• Experience debugging and troubleshooting applications.
• Proficiency in a functional or object-oriented programming language.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate and solve data quality issues and ensure data is secure and reliable.
• Develop ELT processes from various data repositories and APIs across the enterprise.
• Develop data processing scripts.
• Work in a hybrid data environment with on-premises and cloud data warehouses.
• Develop relational and non-relational data models to shape data to meet user needs.
• Monitor performance and scalability issues in a large-scale data lake environment.
