Job summary

FastTek Global in Okemos, Michigan is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of data engineering experience and will work on ETL, EDW, and CDC-based data pipelines moving data from on-premises to cloud destinations.

The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to standards, and on-call rotation to support the platform, with opportunities to work with Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, and Informatica technologies.

Qualifications

• Database platforms Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake.
• OS Windows Server and RedHat Enterprise Linux.
• PL/SQL, T-SQL, Informatica CDI-PC (PowerCenter), Informatica IICS or IDMC.
• Understanding loading an EDW.
• Drive and desire to automate repeatable processes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the analysis and development of technical specifications, programming, and testing of Data Engineering components.
• Participates in creating data pipelines and ETL workflows to ensure that design and Team programming standards and guidelines are followed.
• Follows technology best practices and standards and escalates any issues as deemed appropriate.
• Responsible for ETL workflows that utilize Informatica CDI-PC (PowerCenter) to populate on-prem EDW and data-marts; includes scripting and stored procedures.
• ETL workflows that move data from on-premises sources to cloud platforms like Snowflake and Salesforce.
• Follows Team standards for change control and configuration management.
• Participates in 24-hour on-call rotation in support of the platform.
