Job summary

Viking Cruises is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Platforms & Solutions team, focusing on supplying data for production ML models and pricing strategies. You will design scalable pipelines, collaborate with data scientists, and implement robust ETL processes.

You will work with Azure Databricks, Synapse, and Spark, ensuring governance and data quality while interfacing with software engineers and stakeholders in a fast-paced travel environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in data warehousing and data pipelining; DataLakeHouse a plus.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience (PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQL Server).
• Cloud platform experience (Azure preferred).
• Knowledge of Spark, Hadoop, Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for dynamic pricing models.
• Collaborate with data scientists to prepare data for model training, validation, and deployment.
• Implement and optimize ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows for reliable data integration.
• Integrate data engineering solutions into the broader product architecture.
• Ensure data governance and compliance with privacy and security regulations.
• Engage with stakeholders to translate data requirements into tech specs.
• Document data engineering processes and best practices.
