Job summary

Viking Cruises is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our Data Platforms & Solutions team. You will design, productionize, deploy, and operate machine learning solutions that support management decisions on Databricks.

This role bridges data science, data engineering, and software engineering, focusing on practical MLOps, scalable pipelines, and observability to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• 4+ years experience in machine learning engineering, applied data science, data engineering, or software engineering for production ML systems.
• Strong Python and SQL, with ability to write maintainable production code.
• Hands-on experience deploying and supporting ML models in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain production-grade ML solutions for demand forecasting, pricing, inventory, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with data scientists to turn prototypes into repeatable training and inference pipelines.
• Build feature engineering, training, batch-scoring, and real-time inference workflows using Python, Spark, SQL, Databricks, and MLflow.
• Implement MLOps practices for experiment tracking, model registration/versioning, testing, CI/CD, and reproducibility.
• Monitor model health, latency, data quality, and compute cost; validate changes against baselines.
