Job summary

SMX is hiring a Data Engineer to architect, build, test, and maintain data infrastructure for mission partners. You will develop robust ELT/ETL pipelines and data models, leveraging AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, and Step Functions.

The role emphasizes transforming raw data from diverse sources into high-quality datasets and collaborating with analytics teams. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Data Engineering, 3 years of relevant experience, and an active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering, or related field.
3 years of professional data engineering or backend software experience.
Active Top Secret security clearance.
Strong proficiency in SQL and data query creation.
Hands-on experience with AWS services, specifically AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, and Step Functions.

Responsibilities

Design, construct, test, and maintain scalable data management systems and ELT/ETL pipelines.
Build infrastructure for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using cloud technologies (AWS Glue, Glue Catalog, Step Functions).
Support data migration efforts and ETL functions.
Optimize database schemas and build systems to collect, validate, and prepare data.
Combine data from different sources to meet business needs.
Collaborate with analytics and business teams to deliver production-ready datasets.
