Data Engineer — Cloud Data & Analytics

Job summary

PayIt is seeking a data engineer to partner with the engineering team to ensure access to high-quality data across reporting, data visualization tools, data warehouse, and BI platforms. You will contribute to robust data pipelines and scalable data solutions for government clients.

In this role you will work with large data volumes, collaborate cross-functionally, and apply test-driven development and cloud best practices to deliver accurate insights and trusted data assets.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL experience and handling large data volumes.
• Python proficiency with test-driven development knowledge.
• Experience deploying to public cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
• Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL and cloud data storage tech like MongoDB/Postgres/Snowflake.
• Experience building ETL solutions and data transformations.
• Experience with data orchestration tools (Dagster/Prefect/Airflow).
• Experience in analytical reporting and BI tooling (Tableau/Superset/Looker).
• Experience with data reconciliation across sources.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Engineers and the broader Engineering org to provide high-quality data via reporting, data warehouse, and BI tools.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines and analytics-ready datasets.
• Contribute to scalable data solutions and data quality initiatives.
