Job summary

Verdesian Life Sciences is seeking a data engineer to design, build, and maintain SQL-based data pipelines, optimize database objects, and create PowerBI datasets and reports for reliable analytics. You will build data integrations with APIs and flat files while ensuring data quality and system reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 3 years of experience, a BS in a related field, and strong SQL/ETL skills with tools like SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and Excel.

Qualifications

3 years’ experience as a data engineer, business systems analyst or a similar role.
BS degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
Proficiency in SQL for data querying, transformation, and optimization.
Experience with ETL tools, preferably SSIS (or equivalent such as Mulesoft or Azure Data Factory).
Knowledge in SharePoint, Salesforce or similar CRMs, and Workflow software
Intermediate to expert level Excel skills

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain SQL-based data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading across enterprise systems.
Develop, update, and optimize database objects (views, stored procedures, functions, indexes) for high performance and data accuracy for reporting and analytics.
Create and maintain PowerBI datasets, models, and reports, ensuring data is accurate, refreshed appropriately, and presented in a user-friendly manner.
Build and support data integrations between internal and external systems using APIs, flat files, or integration tools, ensuring secure and timely data exchange.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and document data workflows to ensure system reliability, resolve data quality issues, and provide ongoing operational support for reporting and analytics environments.
