Job summary

PSAI is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data infrastructures using Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Storage, and Cosmos DB. You will select appropriate database systems, draft schemas, and optimize data pipelines to support analytics across multiple platforms.

The role emphasizes data validation, reliability, and collaboration with data scientists and software engineers to deliver cost-effective querying capabilities and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, information systems, or related field.
• Experience with statistical modeling.
• 1–3 years working experience with Python and/or SAS languages.
• 1–3 years working experience with SQL databases and database querying languages.
• 1–3 years working experience with C#/.NET.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Graph database structures.
• Experience with both RDBMS and TDMS.
• Experience with data mining and data cleaning.
• Experience with data visualization and reporting techniques.
• Written and verbal expression.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data infrastructures using SQL Server, Azure Tables, Azure Blobs, and Azure Cosmos.
• Determine the right database system for a provided data set.
• Draft database/table schemas.
• Properly index tables to ensure query performance.
• Create data pipelines for transforming datasets into reliable data systems.
• Identify optimizations and improvements in data pipelines.
• Create data validation solutions to ensure integrity and consistency.
• Ensure data is readily available for analysis and development usage.
• Audit the automation process to avoid gaps or redundancies in data pipelines.
• Plan query-efficient data store schemas for internal data warehouse needs.
• Communicate with data scientists and engineers to build proper pipelines.
• Develop, test, and maintain architectures with feedback from engineers.
• Align data schemas with client business objectives.
• Suggest technologies to test and utilize as a team.
• Incorporate business objectives of stakeholders in data warehouse architecture.
• Research new data acquisition opportunities.
