Job summary

Regions Bank is seeking a Data Engineer in Charlotte, NC to design and deliver data assets that drive business value. You will build data pipelines, implement scalable data architectures, and collaborate with data scientists and product teams to enable insight-led decisions.

Ideal candidates have strong experience with Python/PySpark, SQL, and big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark, with a background in data modeling, governance, and enterprise data stores.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's/ Bachelor's in quantitative/analytical/STEM field with relevant experience.
• 3 years of programming in Python/PySpark, Scala, SQL.
• 3 years working with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka).

Responsibilities

• Partners with Regions Technology to design, build, and maintain data structures and systems for Data and Analytics use cases.
• Builds data pipelines to collect, arrange and store data in Regions’ big data environment.
• Develops data movement, transformation and loading programs using Spark and other tools.
• Coordinates with Data Product Partners, Data Scientists, and Data Management to construct enterprise data stores.
• Ensures data is prepared and ready for defined business use cases with quality and integrity.
• Designs and deploys frameworks and microservices to serve data assets to consumers.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to translate needs into data design requirements and visualizations.
• Provides consultation to areas planning to use data to drive decisions.
• Supports automation of data products and acts as a trusted adviser to business leads.
