Job summary

Regions Bank in Charlotte, Birmingham, or Atlanta seeks a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data structures and pipelines that fuel analytics and reporting. You will partner with Technology and Data teams to deliver enterprise data assets using Spark, Hadoop, and SQL while ensuring data quality and governance in a regulated banking environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. plus 2 years or Master’s +4 years or Bachelor’s +6 years in STEM/technical field.
• 3 years Python/PySpark, Scala, SQL experience.
• 3 years Big Data tech: Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, or Kafka.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Technology to design, build, and maintain data structures for analytics.
• Build data pipelines to collect, arrange, and store data in big data environments.
• Develop programs to move, transform, and load data using Spark and related tools.
• Coordinate with Data Products, Data Scientists, and Data Management to create data stores.
• Ensure data is prepared and ready for defined business use cases.
• Design and deploy frameworks and microservices to serve data assets.
• Translate customer needs into data design requirements and visualizations.
• Advise business leads on data opportunities and performance drivers.
• Support data delivery automation and maintain data quality and integrity.
