Job summary

Regions Bank is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise data structures and pipelines. You will work with data scientists, product teams and business stakeholders to transform and deliver data assets and visualizations that enable informed decisions.

Ideal candidates have advanced degrees with multiple years of Python/Big Data experience, proficiency in Spark/Hadoop, and a track record of delivering scalable data solutions in a regulated financial environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. and two (2) years of experience in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field.
• Or Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field or technical related field.
• Or Bachelor’s degree and six (6) years of experience in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field or technical related field.
• Three (3) years of working programming experience in Python/PySpark, Scala, SQL.
• Three (3) years of working experience in Big Data Technology in Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, or Kafka

Responsibilities

• Partners with Regions Technology to design, build, and maintain data structures and systems for Data & Analytics use cases.
• Builds data pipelines to collect and arrange data in Regions’ big data environment.
• Develops programs for moving, transforming, and loading data using big data tools such as Spark.
• Coordinates design with Data Products, Data Scientists, Data Management and other partners.
• Ensures data is prepared and ready for defined business use cases.
• Designs and deploys frameworks/microservices to serve data assets.
• Translates customer needs into Data Design requirements and data visualizations.
• Provides consultation to areas planning to use data for decisions.
• Supports automation of data products and data delivery.
• Interacts with business leads to identify data opportunities and drive the data strategy.
• Ensures compliance with risk, regulations, and cybersecurity practices.
