Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation is seeking a Data Analyst within the Advanced Data Analytics team to develop and execute a data analytics strategy across Oshkosh products. You will handle data acquisition, processing and machine learning for preventive maintenance and intelligent control of vehicles.

The role emphasizes scalable ETL design, testing, data governance and rapid prototyping, with collaboration across engineering, services and product teams in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science or a related field with three or more years of experience as a data engineer, ETL developer or data warehouse DBA.
• Experience with big data tools and architectures such as Cloudera Hadoop, HDFS, Hive and Spark.
• Working knowledge of telematics interfaces and streaming solutions (MQTT, NiFi, Kafka, etc.).
• Automotive or heavy duty on/off-road vehicle digital data bus experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in SQL, Bash and Python (and Anaconda distribution).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable ETL solutions to deliver data from source systems to analytics platforms.
• Test and validate data transformations to ensure accuracy in enterprise analytics.
• Assist in data governance across data lake and enterprise data warehouse systems.
• Optimize data processes and troubleshoot data processing issues.
• Collaborate across disciplines and communicate across departments.
• Develop rapid prototyping and design processes for fast solution delivery to the business.
• Maintain reference architecture and documentation for governance and roadmaps.
• Educate others on data work best practices.
