Job summary

Medpace, based in Cincinnati, is hiring a Data Engineer to build and support data pipelines powering analytics and AI agents embedded in business processes. You will work on ELT pipelines, AI-enabled solutions, and maintain data foundations across Snowflake, SQL Server, and Azure.

Qualified candidates have a 3+ year data engineering background, strong SQL/Python skills, and experience with Snowflake and dbt. This is an office-based role in Ohio with opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of dimensional data models and star/snowflake schemas.
  • Solid ETL/ELT development and reporting knowledge.
  • Experience with Snowflake and dbt transformations preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python; Git and CI/CD familiarity.
  • REST API experience; AI-enabled development exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data pipelines using ELT tools (dbt, Python, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory).
  • Develop AI-enabled solutions and integrate LLMs and AI agents where applicable.
  • Analyze user requirements and participate in design reviews.
  • Follow lifecycle processes from requirements to maintenance.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance of pipelines.
  • Support validation, testing, and end-user setup for released apps.

Our corporate activities are growing rapidly, and we are currently seeking a full-time, office-based Data Engineer to join our Information Technology team. This position will build and support the data pipelines and models that power the company's analytics, reporting, and the AI agents being embedded in our business processes. Responsibilities
  • Utilize skills in data, AI, and development areas including data warehousing, business intelligence, databases, and AI agents (Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure, Python);
  • Build and maintain data pipelines using Extract, Load, and Transform (ELT) tools (dbt, Python, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory);
  • Develop and support AI-enabled solutions, including AI agent and LLM integrations and the data foundations behind them;
  • Collect, analyze, and document user requirements;
  • Participate in design and code reviews and apply enterprise data standards and best practices;
  • Develop solutions by following the lifecycle process, which includes requirements gathering, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance;
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines for reliability, data quality, and performance;
  • Participate in the software validation process through development, review, and/or execution of test plan/cases/scripts;
  • Use AI coding assistants and agentic development tools as part of daily engineering work;
  • Communicate with team members regarding projects, development, tools, and procedures; and
  • Provide end-user support including setup, installation, and maintenance for applications released.
Qualifications

  • Experience with Snowflake cloud data warehouse and dbt transformations is preferred;
  • Working proficiency in SQL and Python;
  • Experience with version control (Git) and familiarity with CI/CD;
  • Experience consuming REST APIs;
  • Exposure to building with AI — LLM APIs, agent frameworks, or AI-assisted development tools — is preferred;
  • Knowledge of C# and Microsoft Fabric is a bonus; and
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
