Medpace is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain data platforms, pipelines, and AI-enabled solutions that power analytics, reporting, and AI agents across the business.

This full-time, office-based role in Cincinnati requires 5+ years in data engineering, Snowflake/dbt experience, Python, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable data solutions from design to deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with Snowflake data warehouse and dbt transformations.
  • Proficiency in Python and REST APIs.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize data, AI, and development areas including data warehousing, BI, databases, AI agents (Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure, Python).
  • Build and maintain data pipelines using ELT tools (dbt, Python, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory).
  • Design and deploy AI-enabled solutions, including AI agents, LLM integrations, and data foundations.
  • Collect, analyze, and document user requirements.
  • Mentor team members and lead design and code reviews to raise data engineering standards.
  • Create and enhance best practices for data across the enterprise.
  • Architect solutions through the lifecycle: requirements, design, development, testing, release, maintenance.

Our corporate activities are growing rapidly, and we are currently seeking a full-time, office-based Senior Data Engineer to join our Information Technology team. This position will build the data platform and pipelines that power the company’s expanding use from analytics and reporting to AI agents embedded in our business processes. Responsibilities
  • Utilize skills in data, AI, and development areas including data warehousing, business intelligence, databases, AI agents (Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure, Python);
  • Build and maintain data pipelines using Extract, Load, and Transform (ELT) tools (dbt, Python, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory);
  • Design and deploy AI-enabled solutions, including AI agents, LLM integrations, and the data foundations that support them;
  • Collect, analyze, and document user requirements;
  • Mentor team members and lead design and code reviews to raise data engineering standards;
  • Create and enhance best practices for data across the enterprise;
  • Architect solutions by following the lifecycle process, which includes requirements gathering, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance;
  • Monitor and optimize pipelines for reliability, data quality, performance, and cost;
  • Participate in the software validation process through development, review, and/or execution of test plan/cases/scripts;
  • Use AI coding assistants and agentic development tools as part of daily engineering work;
  • Communicate with team members regarding projects, development, tools, and procedures; and
  • Provide end-user support including setup, installation, and maintenance for applications released.
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field;
  • Knowledge of developing dimensional data models and awareness of the advantages and limitations of star schema and snowflake schema designs;
  • Solid ETL/ELT development, reporting knowledge based on intricate understanding of business processes and measures;
  • Experience with Snowflake cloud data warehouse and dbt transformations is preferred;
  • Working proficiency in Python;
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD;
  • Experience consuming REST APIs;
  • Experience building with AI — LLM APIs, agent frameworks, or AI-assisted development tools — is preferred;
  • Knowledge of C# and Microsoft Fabric is a bonus; and
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
