Medpace is seeking a BI Intern to contribute to data modernization across the analytics and business intelligence team in Cincinnati. You will design and build data pipelines, create reusable data models, and collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and operations to deliver trusted datasets for reporting and decision-making.

Ideal candidates are rising juniors or seniors pursuing a related degree, proficient in Python and SQL, with interest in cloud platforms such as Azure and Snowflake,

Qualifications

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in CS, Data Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with solid data fundamentals.
• Understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, ETL/ELT patterns, and data quality.
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and SDLC, with willingness to learn.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and clear communication skills.
• Preferred: cloud data platforms (Azure/Snowflake) and orchestration tools.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines in Python/SQL.
• Ingest data from enterprise apps, databases, files, APIs, and cloud sources.
• Develop reusable data products and dimensional/analytic models for reporting and AI use cases.
• Move legacy assets toward a governed single source of truth with clear rules.
• Implement data quality checks, lineage, logging, and monitoring.
• Document mappings, define data contracts, and meet acceptance criteria.
• Optimize pipelines for performance, cost, and secure access.
• Write clean, tested code; participate in peer reviews and CI/CD practices.
• Investigate failures and perform root-cause analysis with durable fixes.
• Leverage modern engineering tools, including AI-assisted development, as appropriate.
