Job summary

TEKsystems is hiring a Contract to Hire Data Engineer in Chicago, IL to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and PySpark. The role involves transforming data from multiple enterprise systems into model-ready datasets and building feature pipelines for ML and GenAI applications.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders to translate data needs into technical solutions, ensure data quality, and support deployment and monitoring of ML/LLM solutions in AWS

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and PySpark.
• Integrate and transform data from multiple enterprise systems into model-ready datasets.
• Build and manage feature engineering pipelines for machine learning and GenAI applications.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of machine learning and LLM-based solutions.
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Analyze and validate data quality, identify anomalies, and troubleshoot pipeline issues.
• Convert legacy SQL-based processes into modern Python/PySpark frameworks.
• Partner with Data Science teams to operationalize models and deliver business outcomes.
• Contribute to cloud migration and modernization initiatives within AWS environments.
• Participate in agile, pod-based delivery teams consisting of business, technology, data, and modeling stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
