Job summary

Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. in Buford, GA seeks a Process Engineer I to own and optimize manufacturing processes on the plant floor. You will work closely with Production and Maintenance to gather data, analyze it, and implement improvements.

The role combines hands-on technical work with data-driven decision making, requiring collaboration across Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to meet KPI targets and cost goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
• 0–5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with statistical analysis of large data-sets.
• Working knowledge with SQL and/or data-analytics tools. Strong proficiency with MS Excel is required.
• One or more of the following: Data-Analysis tools JMP, Qlik, Power Query; Six Sigma, DMAIC, PDCA; PC hardware; interpreting electrical/mechanical drawings; high-temperature processing of quartz glass.

Responsibilities

• Assume technical ownership of assigned process areas and apply engineering expertise to stabilize and continually improve manufacturing processes.
• Analyze process, machine, and quality data to identify and resolve issues while optimizing yield, reducing scrap, and lowering costs.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, technical support, problem solving, and hands-on troubleshooting to operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate with operations to establish and meet department KPI targets.
• Manage engineering and capital projects as assigned.
• Industrialize and scale up new processes and products in the assigned area.
• Support safety, quality, operational excellence and continuous improvement culture.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, R&D, Project Engineering, Quality, and Sales to achieve business objectives.
