Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Operations Automation Technician in Champaign, IL, focused on using data and automation tools to improve process efficiency and safety.

You’ll analyze data from Pacefactory to identify traffic patterns and safety concerns, support robotics and autonomous vehicle operations, and help translate findings into practical recommendations. The role is on-site, 1st shift, with up to 5% travel and no relocation assistance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement.
• Use Pacefactory and other tools to evaluate traffic flow, congestion areas and safety concerns.
• Support analysis of robotics and autonomous vehicle operations to improve efficiency and safety.
• Monitor operational KPIs and assist with routine reporting and dashboards.
• Help automate recurring data collection and reporting activities.
• Translate data findings into practical recommendations for process improvements.
• Partner with operations and technical teams to support continuous improvements.
• Identify and document opportunities to improve workflow, productivity and workplace safety.
• Maintain accurate data and reporting to support operational decision-making.
