Job summary

Metallized Carbon Corporation in Ossining, NY is seeking a hands‑on Quality Assurance Manager to lead daily quality activities, work with production and engineering, and ensure products meet customer specifications on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of QA experience, ISO 9001/AS9100 knowledge, strong leadership and problem‑solving skills, and a track record of driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance or related field; 5–7 years QA experience in a job shop environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, PPAP, FMEA, root cause analysis, corrective action, and process improvement.
• Experience reading customer blueprints and specifications.
• Hands-on experience with dimensional inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, Sunnen gauges, CMM).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day activities of the Quality Department, including inspection priorities and follow-up on quality issues.
• Serve as Quality Management System representative; maintain ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 compliance and oversee internal audits.
• Work hands-on with inspectors and production employees to evaluate materials, in-process work, and finished products.
• Review customer drawings and quality requirements; establish product control plans and inspection methods.
• Lead investigations into nonconforming products and customer returns; implement corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation (Quality Manual, procedures, work instructions, inspection records).
• Apply FMEA, PPAP, statistical techniques, and continuous improvement methods to reduce defects.
• Prepare quality metrics and report to quarterly management reviews.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to address quality concerns and improve products.
