Job summary

Really Great Reading is seeking a Finance and Operations Analyst to deliver trusted financial and operational insights and to partner across Finance and Operations leadership. The role focuses on planning, performance reporting, and process improvement in a fully remote, national scope.

You will analyze data, build models, and present findings to guide resource planning, investments, and optimizations across departments.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of relevant experience in business analysis, operations analysis, financial planning and analysis, accounting, or related roles.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing business or operational questions and linking findings to financial decisions.
• Strong financial analysis foundation, including interpreting results and planning, forecasting, or modeling.
• Experience investigating root causes, evaluating alternatives, and recommending practical improvements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with pivots, lookups, and complex formulas.
• Experience with ERP systems and combining data from multiple sources.
• Experience creating reports, tracking performance measures, or developing dashboards.
• Ability to manage projects independently and adapt to evolving priorities.
• Comfort with ambiguity and shifting processes.
• Attention to detail and ability to explain findings to financial and nonfinancial audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teams to define business questions, identify data, and develop actionable insights.
• Analyze workload, service demand, staffing, costs, and process performance for resource planning.
• Investigate root causes of operational challenges and evaluate investments to address them.
• Combine financial and operational data to assess needs and recommend options.
• Develop and maintain models to compare scenarios and support decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and monitor meaningful KPIs.
• Develop reports and dashboards that communicate financial and operational performance.
• Document data sources and methods to improve consistency.
