Job summary

The Hartford is seeking an Underwriting Analyst to support Underwriters for Regional and National Accounts with pre-sales, renewals, plan changes, and reporting. This hybrid role involves working in the Hartford, CT office and other locations as needed.

Responsibilities include reviewing RFPs and census data, developing manual rates, maintaining rating accuracy, and coordinating renewal discussions to resolve discrepancies and finalize pricing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ work experience; Employee Benefits a plus.
• MS Office proficiency including Excel formulas, VLOOKUP, and PivotTables.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with organizational skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and initiative to expand skills.

Responsibilities

• Review RFP submissions and census for completeness; request missing info.
• Interpret plan designs to create manual rates and highlight discrepancies.
• Maintain 97% target and 93% accuracy for ratings by due date.
• Locate census, verify completeness, and compare renewal census with current premium.
• Populate Renewal Notes Template and summarize renewal information.
