Job Title: Data Conversion Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Conversion Specialist to join our team to play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient transformation of data during system migrations and implementations.

This position involves working closely with various departments, understanding data structures, and performing the technical conversion of data from legacy systems to new platforms while maintaining data integrity and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyze, map, and transform large datasets from legacy systems into target systems.
2. Develop data conversion strategies, including data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business data requirements and ensure data conversion meets project goals.
4. Perform data validation, quality checks, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve data inconsistencies or inaccuracies.
5. Create and maintain data conversion scripts, ensuring efficient and repeatable processes.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, developers, project managers, and end-users to ensure smooth data transitions.
7. Document data conversion procedures, mapping rules, and workflows for reference and training purposes.
8. Monitor data migration progress and provide regular reports on the status of data conversion processes.
9. Ensure data privacy and security standards are upheld throughout the conversion process.
10. Assist in post-conversion data analysis to ensure accurate and complete data migration.
11. This position may require occasional work outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support critical system updates, issue resolution, or project deadlines.

Qualifications:

1. Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL)
2. Proven experience in data conversion, migration, or ETL processes.
3. Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, or SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
7. Experience in managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
8. Experience in migrating data to/from ERP, CRM, or other enterprise software systems.
9. Knowledge of data governance and regulatory requirements.
10. Previous experience in a similar role in industries such as finance, healthcare, or technology.

Compensation:

This is a salaried position ranging from $65,000 - $80,000 per year depending on a variety of factors.
