Job summary

Lvi-Associates in Dallas is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead design of MV/LV power distribution for data centre projects, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and procurement teams.

The role focuses on developing diagrams, equipment specs, protection strategies, grounding, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while supporting FAT, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in electrical power distribution.
• Experience designing medium-voltage power systems and protective relaying solutions.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Design MV and LV power distribution systems for modular electrical infrastructure projects.
• Develop one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawing packages.
• Specify and size electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, transfer switches, UPS systems, batteries, and protection devices.
• Perform power system studies including short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash analyses.
• Develop grounding and bonding designs in accordance with best practices.
• Define protection philosophies, relay schemes, interlocks, ESD systems, and alarm strategies.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with control systems, HVAC, fire protection, and other stakeholders.
• Support compliance with codes and certification requirements.
• Develop and maintain BOMs and support manufacturing and procurement.
