Daksta is partnering with a market‑leading mission‑critical organisation delivering some of the world's largest hyperscale and digital infrastructure projects.

As demand for AI, cloud computing, and high‑performance computing continues to reshape the global economy, our client is expanding its commissioning leadership team and seeking an experienced Director of Commissioning (CX) to lead large‑scale commissioning programmes across North America.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Director of Commissioning will be responsible for developing and executing commissioning strategy across a growing portfolio of hyperscale and colocation data centre developments.

You will provide leadership across all commissioning activities from design review and constructability through Integrated Systems Testing (IST), operational readiness, and final client handover.

This role requires a strategic leader capable of driving consistency, operational excellence, and programme‑wide delivery standards across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement commissioning strategy across large‑scale mission‑critical programmes.
• Establish commissioning standards, procedures, and best practices across multiple projects.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across commissioning delivery teams.
• Partner with executive leadership to support business growth and project execution objectives.
• Oversee commissioning delivery across multiple hyperscale and colocation data centre developments.
• Ensure successful execution of Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities.
• Lead Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and Operational Readiness programmes.
• Monitor programme performance, schedules, budgets, and delivery milestones.
• Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and project risks.
• Build, mentor, and develop high‑performing commissioning teams.
• Provide leadership to Commissioning Managers, CX Leads, and project commissioning personnel.
• Support recruitment, workforce planning, and succession development initiatives.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the senior commissioning representative for clients, contractors, consultants, and operational teams.
• Lead executive‑level project reviews and client engagements.
• Manage relationships with key technology clients and mission‑critical stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment between construction, commissioning, and operations teams.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience within mission‑critical commissioning, construction, or critical facility operations.
• Proven experience leading commissioning programmes across multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of:
