Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking a Commissioning Project Manager for data center construction in Texas. You will lead commissioning execution, drive FAT/SAT testing, and tightly integrate the commissioning schedule with construction and energization milestones.

Required 5+ years in mission-critical commissioning; data center experience preferred. PE/CxA/PMP credentials are a plus, with strong communication skills to translate risk to owners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commissioning experience on mission-critical facilities.
• Data center experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution, standby power, and mechanical cooling at scale.
• Experience with Level 4/5 integrated testing on live facilities.
• Professional credentials (PE, CxA/BCxP/CCP, PMP) are a plus.
• Ability to translate technical risk into plain language for owners.

Commissioning Project Manager — Data Center Construction

Location: Texas | Type: Full-Time | Travel: 50%

What You Own

• Lead Cx (commissioning) execution for hyperscale data center projects, from design review through integrated systems testing and warranty-phase closeout.
• Drive factory witness testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
• Build and manage the commissioning schedule, integrating it tightly with construction, startup, and energization milestones.
• Author and control Cx plans, MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs, ensuring every procedure is technically sound and field-executable.
• Run integrated systems testing (IST), coordinating electrical, mechanical, controls, and fire/life safety trades through complex failure-mode and load-bank scenarios.
• Chair commissioning meetings that keep the client's engineering team aligned and accountable.
• Report commissioning status, risk, and readiness directly to ownership and operations stakeholders.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of commissioning experience on mission-critical facilities; data center experience strongly preferred
• Deep working knowledge of electrical distribution, standby power, and mechanical cooling systems at scale.
• Fluency in commissioning standards and frameworks.
• A track record of running Level 4/5 integrated testing on live or near-live critical facilities.
• PE, CxA (BCxP/CCP), or PMP credentials are a strong plus, not a hard requirement, we care more about what you've actually commissioned.
• The communication skills to translate technical risk into plain language for owners, and the backbone to push back on schedule pressure when safety or quality is on the line
