Job summary

JLL is seeking a dedicated on-site engineer to operate and maintain all mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure in a mission-critical data center in Kansas City, MO. The role focuses on achieving 100% uptime through proactive monitoring, testing, and vendor oversight.

The ideal candidate has CMCO certification, an Operating Engineer license, and 5+ years in a technical critical environment, with strong knowledge of HVAC, power systems, and data center operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent, technical training or degree.
• Certified Mission Critical Operator (CMCO) Certification.
• 5+ years related work experience in a technical, critical environment operation.
• Operating Engineer license or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret design/construction documents for critical sites and systems.
• Proficient in MS Office and email; strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Vaccination required for on-site attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all mechanical, electrical and building infrastructure in a data center.
• Monitor and operate equipment to ensure 100% uptime of the data center.
• Perform installation, repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems and controls.
• Oversee vendors/contractors for annual OEM preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with critical environment management programs and safety protocols.
