Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate opening for an L1 Data Center Technician in Abernathy, TX. This 12-month contract is onsite, involving installation and maintenance of datacenter hardware and cabling.

You will handle server deployments, cable management, and on-call support while meeting aggressive SLA requirements. Familiarity with Linux and IT infrastructure is desired, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
3 years of data center or IT hardware experience recommended.
Basic understanding of server hardware and networking concepts.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in datacenter environments.
Familiarity with cabling (copper/fiber) and connectivity standards.
Strong attention to detail and procedural accuracy.
Experience with IT support or technical operations is a plus.
Exposure to Linux or command line environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

Install, rack, and deploy server and networking hardware in datacenter environments.
Perform cable management tasks including reseating, labeling, and replacing cabling.
Execute server tray swaps and hardware replacements per procedures.
Respond to incidents and support onsite troubleshooting with SLA adherence.
Document maintenance activities and inventory updates in tracking systems.
Conduct basic diagnostics to identify hardware or connectivity issues.
Work shifts or on-call duties to support 24/7 operations.
Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
