Job summary

Socket.dev in Abilene, TX seeks a Data Center Technician to identify opportunities to replace or upgrade server components. You will validate cabling and verify that the network environment build and connectivity are established, while monitoring and assigning work in the ticketing system.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing a 9 ft ladder, long 10–12 hour shifts, and rotating days, nights, weekends and holidays.

• IT Hardware Concepts knowledge (RAID, Linux/Unix, CLI).
• Good computer skills.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Able to work 10-12 hour shifts.
• Willing to travel as required
• Client experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to replace or upgrade server components.
• Validate cabling and verify network environment build and connectivity.
• Monitor and assign work in the ticketing environment.
• Mentor less experienced technicians or implement technical solutions.
• Train advance fix and repair techniques aligned with SOPs and MOPs.
• Serve as a technical liaison for both technical and non-technical teams.
• Identify and resolve resiliency, reliability, and availability risks.
