Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in our data centers. You will work with racks, networks, routers and switches, contributing to cutting-edge infrastructure and AI delivery. The role emphasizes hands-on hardware tasks and collaboration across teams.

US: $105000 - $145000 (USD) plus 15% bonus target, equity and benefits. Physical work is expected, with non-standard hours required as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with repairing and troubleshooting equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and servers.
• Experience with networking protocols.
• Willingness to lift up to 50 lb and perform demanding physical tasks.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
• Report issues and follow procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment or infrastructure problems.
• Maintain data security and integrity, track media and ensure proper data erasure per Google standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life and perform part replacement or maintenance as needed.
• Repair, perform preventative maintenance, and diagnose issues across servers and infrastructure.
