Job summary

IREN is seeking a Data Center Technician II in Childress, TX to ensure reliable infrastructure operations. The role focuses on advanced hardware support, incident resolution, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams to meet uptime and performance goals.

The position includes a 15% premium for night shifts, a rotational schedule, and a full benefits package. Candidates should have hardware, networking, and OS experience, with relevant certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Intermediate understanding of computer hardware, networking, and data center infrastructure.
• High proficiency in troubleshooting hardware issues and component replacements.
• Expert in cable management, labeling standards, and physical network setup.
• Experience using ticketing systems and asset tracking tools.
• Intermediate knowledge of Linux/Windows Server operating systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow technical documentation and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and SOPs.
• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA A+, Server+, Cisco CCT, BICSI Installer).
• Use of industry standard test equipment and root cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced installation, maintenance, and repair of servers, storage systems, and networking hardware.
• Act as a subject matter expert for customer installations, including rack and stack, cages, cable trays, and fiber interconnects.
• Test and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic circuits.
• Support change management, migrations, decommissioning, and upgrades.
• Receive, install, and test cross connects of copper and fiber optics.
• Enforce security protocols for physical access and data protection.
• Collaborate with remote engineering teams on deployments and incidents.
• Maintain cluster design, inventory, and documentation.
