Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Technician (Day or Swing Shift) in Sparks, NV. The role involves installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining hardware and server software, including networking components.

You will participate in projects, lead small efforts, and manage racks and infrastructure on cutting-edge hardware. Applicants should have IT support training, a relevant degree or certification, and the ability to work non-standard hours including weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting OS, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Experience performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lb and work physically over extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across projects or functions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment or infrastructure following data center procedures.
• Maintain data security and integrity per Google standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life with team.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and servers.
