Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists is seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support critical IT infrastructure in a Dundalk, MD data center. The role covers hardware deployment, rack-and-stack, asset tracking, and incident response to maintain maximum uptime.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of data center or desktop support experience, comfortable following SOPs, and basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Candidates must be able to lift equipment and work on-site.

Qualifications

• 1+ year hands-on IT, infra, desktop or data center experience.
• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware and operating systems.
• Knowledge of Windows 11, Linux OS, and laptop imaging and deployment.
• Basic networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience using a ticketing or incident management system.
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment in a data center.

Responsibilities

• Install, rack, stack, cable, and decommission servers and network devices.
• Perform hardware break/fix and component replacements.
• Follow SOPs, perform maintenance and approved change requests.
• Respond to high-priority incidents to maintain uptime.
• Support asset and inventory management and documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotations and shift coverage.
