Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. The role is part of the Critical and Technical Services function, focusing on technical maintenance in critical client environments.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily site inspections, responding to BMS alarms, working with vendors, and completing PM and reactive maintenance. Willingness to work shifts and meet physical requirements is required.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or technical training with 1–2 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to work shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Must meet physical requirements.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment.
• Ensure environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors per procedures and laws.
• Notify management if subcontractor performance fails to meet requirements.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Check BMS for HVAC conditions and respond to client issues.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities during walkthroughs.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults.
• Follow established processes and complete work with safety and quality in mind.
• Complete required training for job responsibilities.
• Apply existing procedures to solve routine problems under supervision.
• Understand duties and tasks described in defined methods.
