Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation.

You will be involved in daily site inspections of Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment, ensuring safe environmental conditions and responding to BMS alarms. The role requires completing planned PM and reactive maintenance, coordinating with third-party vendors, and adhering to company procedures and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or technical training with 1-2 years of related experience; diploma optional.
• Ability to work shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role.
• Ability to present information clearly to internal departments, clients, management and colleagues.
• Follow basic work routines and standards in task execution.
• Good communication to exchange straightforward information.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily site inspections of Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
• Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• React to Building Management System alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Work with third-party vendors following company processes, procedures, and laws/regulations.
• Alert management if subcontractor performance doesn’t meet requirements per the Master Service Agreement.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
• Check BMS for running/alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client issues.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities during walkthroughs.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
• Follow established processes; conduct routine quality checks for maintenance records.
• Complete required training to succeed in job responsibilities.
• Use defined procedures to solve straightforward problems under supervision.
